I’m Sophie, Founder of Pudl and Mum of Two
Pudl started with a bit of a rude awakening; once you have kids, rainy afternoons don’t mean lazing around on the sofa anymore.
Getting outside became something I needed - for my sanity, for a reset, for a moment of calm. But when it rained, it was a bit of a nightmare (ever tried pushing a pram while holding an umbrella?).
I wanted something I could throw on quickly over my indoor clothes that made me feel fully protected from the elements. This lead me to create the Pudl Suit.

Pudl suits are consciously made using recycled materials, finished with a PFA-free water-repellent coating, and produced through a pre-order model to help reduce waste and avoid overproduction. So you can enjoy the outdoors while helping protect it too.
Kickstarter Success
In 2025, I launched Pudl on Kickstarter and was blown away by the response. Together we raised over £50,000 in just 25 days from 196 backers.
More than 250 Pudl suits are now in production for our first customers. That early support didn’t just fund a product — it proved there’s a community of people who also want to make weather irrelevant.
Sustainability
As a small, independent brand, Pudl will continue to grow through limited pre-order drops, with our next order being placed April 2026. There are two big reasons we work this way:

Pre-ordering means we only make what’s needed. No excess stock. No wasted materials. No unsold garments heading to landfill. It’s a slower, smarter, more responsible way to build an outerwear brand and it keeps our environmental footprint small.

As an independent founder without big investors behind me, pre-orders allow Pudl to stay financially sustainable while offering the highest quality materials and construction. It lets us invest in the product, listen to our community and grow intentionally rather than rushing to scale.
